Almond Butter Energy Balls: Keep it Simple

The basis of this recipe is only 5 ingredients and essentially no equipment is needed. All you need is some measuring utensils, a spoon, bowl and a plate to place them on. I love how simple and inexpensive these are to make. It took about 10 minutes of my evening and now I have snacks for the whole week. You will need almond butter, oats, chocolate chips, honey and flax seed for the base. Then you can play around with adding other yummy ingredients. I did some experiments in the kitchen to find perfect blend.

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed try Manitoba Milling whole milled flaxseed!
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 T cocoa powder
  • 2 T coffee flour
  • 2 t cayenne pepper
  • 2 t cinnamon


  1. Add all ingredients into mixing bowl.

  2. Mix thoroughly with spatula until all ingredients are well combined. 

  3. Roll into 2″ balls, place in refrigerator.
